Kālikā Mata Temple is a Hindu Goddess temple complex and pilgrim centre at the summit of Pavagadh Hill in Panchmahal district, India, within the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. It dates from the 10th or 11th centuries. The temple has three images of Goddesses: the central image is of Kalika Mata, flanked by Kali on the right and Bahucharamata on the left. The spire has a shrine of Sadanandsha Pir, a Muslim ‘Pir’ or “Saint” held in great reverence locally. On Chitra sud 8, a fair is held at the temple which is attended by thousands of devotees. The temple is the site of one of the Shakti Peethas.

Mukteshwar temple is one of the most sacred places around Pathankot Punjab. These caves are on the way to Shahpur Kandi and This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated on the bank of the River Ravi, about 20–22 km from Pathankot City in Shaupur Kandi. The temple is also known as the Mukesran Mandir A mela, called the Mukesran Da Mela, is held every year, in the month of April, to mark Baisakhi. Lots of pilgrim from all over the Punjab and nearby state Himachal and Jammu and kashmir comes here for puja every year (worship) mainly on that mela and on Shiv Ratri.

These caves which date to the time of the Mahabharata according to a legend, the Pandavas stayed in those caves for a while during their “Agayatwas” (exile) and is believed to have served as the house of the Pandavas, during their exile. Situated at the hilltop, Mukteshwar temple has a white marble Shivling, with a copper Yoni. The Shivling is surrounded by the idols of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Paravati, Lord Hanuman and Lord Ganesha. There is every year big festival on day shivratri and after one month of shivratri there is three day festival chodiya amavasya and also navratri and Beshaki festival.

The dam a joint venture of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh is a symbol of interstate co-operation. Ranjit Sagar Dam is also known as Thein Dam. Ranjit Sagar Dam was completed in 2000 and generates 600 MW power. It is the highest earth filled dam in India. Kanakeshwar – near Alibag is a nice place and famous for cool climate and especially because of old temple of Lord Shiva. The hill is almost 1200 feet high and one has to climb 700 – 750 steps to reach the temple. In the mid of the hill one can see ‘Nagobacha Tappa’ ( a Place of Snakes ) and famous step ‘ Devachi Payari ‘ . There is one popular story about this step that it was named because it is said that God itself stepped here after the construction of the temple and the steps. The hill and the surroundings are pretty good to visit. One can feel the hilly region and the forest on the hill. The other places to see near Kanakeshwar are ‘ Maruti Temple ‘, ‘ Gaymandi ‘ ( Sculpture of Cow ) ,’ Temple of Devi Putrabai ‘ , ‘ Gaymukh ‘ and ‘ the platue of Vyaghreshwar ‘ ( A small temple of Lord Shiva ) etc.

Vrindavan Farm find all varieties of alien and everyday plants can be seen in this farm. 70,000 and more plants can be found to be on sale in the farm. The various kinds of plants are crotons, cacti and many kinds of mango trees. Guava, custard apple, chikoo can also be found in this farm. The Vrindavan Farm is spread over a tremendous area of 28 acres. Tiny wings which are an art and craft museum can also be seen in the farm. This museum displays bidri ware, patta chitras and tribal produces. Vrindavan Farm has a one day fun scheme costing Rs 750 per head and includes breakfast, lunch and tea.

Taxi : Taxis are another way to get around town. They can be hired from nearby cities and used for local transport as well. Taxis charge around Rs 1500 per day. A/C taxis and SUV’s such as Toyota Qualis are also available.

BUS : By bus : MSRTC buses should be available from various parts of Maharashtra. If you are leaving from Mumbai, then you have an option of boarding MSRTC buses, leaving every 30 mins – 1 hr from the Mumbai Central Bus Station. Though they might be uncomfortable, they top in terms of punctuality. Remember to grab a window seat!
Private buses can be chartered – a good option if you are going in a large group.

Train : The nearest station is at Gholvad Station (2 km) from which one can take bus, taxi or rickshaw to Alibaug. Train services between Mumbai and Surat stop at this station. Panvel is another nearest station which is at a distance of 49 kms from Alibaug.

Air : The nearest airport is Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport, which is 179 km away.

Others : By boat : There are ferries and catamarans available from the Gateway of India, Mumbai. The journey takes 2 hours. However, service is suspended during the rains, i.e. May-October. The ferry takes you to Rewas and you are taken on a bus to Alibag. The cost of the bus trip is usually included in the ferry fare. This is the recommended way of getting to Alibag.

Revdanda Fort is remnants of huge outer walls of this fort. The thick outer walls are hollow from within and these clandestine routes are interconnected. A structure, in dilapidated state today, known as ‘Saat Khani Buruj (bastion) was constructed in 1534. These walls run 5-6 kms in length.
