Rangoli Metro Art Center was developed by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) after the civil and construction works of Namma Metro station at the M.G Road, Bangalore was completed. It was inaugurated on May 6, 2013 and made available for the public. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation’s redesigned the walkway with Bougainvillea which was available for the public before the Metro Rail station construction. This space now includes art galleries, auditorium, play area for kids, Walk-way and more.

The Government Museum of Bangalore counts amongst the oldest museums in India. The Government museum and got it constructed in the year 1876. Later, a number of wings were added to the main building. Bangalore Government was opened up for public viewing in the year 1886 only. The Government Museum of Bangalore comprises of two exhibition floors, which have been further divided into eighteen galleries. These galleries comprise of different sections like geology, natural history, sculpture, art and numismatics. The rich collection of the museum comprises of ancient coins and art, along with relics from the Indus valley civilization, especially Mohenjodaro, Halebid and Vijayanagar. Many relics kept at the museum are as much as 5000 years old. Government Museum of Bangalore also houses prehistoric artifacts, belonging to the Neolithic period. These artifacts were unearthed while excavations were being carried out at Chandravalli. Other items displayed inside the museum include a rich assortment of South Indian jewelry, fascinating stones, inscriptions, icons, paintings, coins, miniature paintings, sculptures, textiles, etc.

Devanahalli Fort was built in 1501 by Mallabairegowda and later came under the possession of Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan. In fact, the present fort made of stones, was built by Hyder Ali. The fort has 12 semi-circular bastions at regular intervals. The entrances, decorated with plaster work, are quite small spacious enough for the horses to pass through. The birthplace of Tipu Sultan is located near the Devanahalli Fort. A plaque has been erected in an enclosure to inform the visitors this fact. Also, the house in which Hyder Ali and Tipu had lived can also be seen here. Khas Bagh, the area surrounding the enclosure, has a dried up stone pond as well as some banana, tamarind and mango plantations. A few temples like the Venugopalaswamy temple, Siddalingeshwara temple, Chandramouleshwara Temple and Nanjundeshwara temple are also present inside the fort.

Bangalore Fort was built by Kempe Godwa II. The fort was further expanded by Emperor Tipu Sultan. Over the years, the fort came under the control of the Sultan of Bijapur, Mughals and Wodeyars of Mysore. The ancient monument has an unusual oval shape. One of the most distinct features of the fort is a tall gate, outside of the fort, which has three massive iron knobs. Besides, visitors can see a massive gate with iron spikes on the upper half of the door. Among several access gates, the one which is used nowadays is known as the Delhi Gate, which is decorated with fine Persian friezes on the inner and outer walls. The fort is protected by thick walls, with visible marks of the damage caused by Lord Cornwallis and his army in their attempt to capture the fort. Along the walls of the fort is a Ganapathi Temple, which was constructed in the 16th century.

Jawahar Bal Bhawan is one of the biggest parks of Bangalore city. Jawahar Bal Bhawan occupies over 300 acres with flowering plants, towering trees, shaded groves and vast expanse of green. Though this park is in the heart of the city it contributes to the vast expanse of greenery, protecting environment for Bangaloreans, a great lung space for morning joggers. Lush green landscapes contribute to the rich plant wealth. Many exotic botanical species and genera grow here. They are over 6000plants and trees in the premises attributing to 68 genera and 96 species. The onus of maintenance and development the park is on the Horticulture department which they have done it with pride and dedication. In addition, many ornamental and flowering trees both exotic and indigenous are found in the park.
