Shantaleswara Temple is one of the major attractions of the destination, where several idols are placed next to each other. The shrine is constructed on an elevated platform facing east and is dedicated to Lord Shantaleswara. The idol of Lord Shantaleswara is made of soft soapstone also known as potstone. The sanctum of the temple features a shivalinga, a prototype of Hindu style of architecture. Unlike the simple interiors, the exterior structure of the shrine is quite complex but is decorated beautifully. The Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the chief attractions among wildlife enthusiasts. The wildlife reserve is spread over an area of 102 sq km, situated in the Western Ghats. Dense cover of evergreen forests, semi-evergreen forests and Shola grassland of the sanctuary provide shelter to innumerable wildlife species. The altitude of Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary varies from 160 to 1712 metres with Pushpagiri Peak in the north being the highest peak. The other notable peak of the sanctuary is Kumaraparvatha Peak. To the north, the sanctuary adjoins with Bisle Reserve, whereas Kukke Subramanya forest range lies in the west. Elephant, leopard, jungle cat, wild pig, spotted deer, barking deer, mouse deer and common otter are some of the species found in Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. Besides, the reserve is home to jackal, hare, common mongoose, small Indian civet, common palm civet and porcupine.

Shravanabelagola Temple is one of the chief pilgrim centres of Jains. It is located between two rocky hills and is famous for an 18 metres high monolith of Lord Gomateshwara atop Indragiri hill. Along with the monolith, there are several small images of Jain Tirthankaras, around the Gomateshwara sculpture. Mahamastakabhisheka festival, an elaborate ritual held once every 12 years, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal. During the festival, the shrine is thronged by Jain devotees in large numbers. The statue can be reached by climbing 614 rock-cut steps.

The Archaeological Museum is among the chief sightseeing attractions featuring several articles of historical importance. Several sculptures, architectural members and inscriptions of historical significance retrieved from the region are on display. A bronze 18th Tirthankara image, excavated from the ruined tank of one of the Jaina Basadis, is the highlight of museum housing over 1,500 historic articles and sculptures. The historical sculptures, which include Govardhanagiridhari Krishna, Nataraja, Veena Saraswati, dancing Ganesha, Brahma-Saraswati, Nagna Kala Bhairava, wooden carvings and Nandi are some noteworthy articles in the shrine. The repository maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India was established during the 1970s.

Kedareshwara Temple is one of the popular religious shrines of the region that depicts Chalukyan style of architecture. The shrine features two beautifully decorated Hoysala emblems. The shrine of Kedareshwara is in ruins and has never been restored to its original architecture. The basement of the temple exhibits a plethora of carvings illustrating stories of epics such as the Ramayana, the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita. The walls and ceiling of Kedareshwara Temple are beautifully decorated.Lord Shiva is enshrined in the sanctum in the form of a shivalinga of Krishnashila, a black stone. Along with shivalinga, brahmalinga and a figurine of Janardhana are also housed in the shrine. Besides, there are beautiful statues of Tandaveshwara, Uma Maheshwara, Bhairava and Varaha.

Chennakesava temple are attractive. When one enters the temple, one gets a feel of the grandeur of the Hoysalas. The sacrosanct platform of the temple has a golden horse along with the temple chariot. Lord Vishnu’s carrying the Garuda is at the entrance and faces the temple. The temple structure has exclusive filigree gleams which shine like metal. The sculptures are well proportioned. Soapstone which is light greenish in colour has been used to create the Chennakesava temple. Smaller temples of Ranmaganayaki and Soumyanaki, the beloved of Lord Chennakesava lie within the temple premises. One gets to see temples of Anjaneya and Narasimha from here. The senior queen of King Vishnuvardhana, Shantaladevi who was a dance legend, built the Channigaraya temple.
