The Meeran Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the town which is believed to be constructed around 350 years ago. The mosque has been built in the old gothic Islam architecture by Arcod Nawab. There are four pillars situated below the dome of the mosque. The mosque also has a Kalima slab above the Meerhath that has clean blankets spread all over the hall. On the top of the facade minaret, there is a Kalasa made of bronze and graves of Suubhi Errai Perrar Mullah and Meeran. There is a regular prayer session held inthe mosque on daily basis.

The Anglo-French Textile Mill is among one of the oldest mills in India which produces quality fabrics. It was previously known as the Rodier Mill and used to have only weaving and spinning departments that made use of grey coloured fabric. Later on, the infrastructure of the mill improved and was equipped with latest amenities such as process house and automatic looms. After a few years of its establishment, it was taken over by the Pondicherry Textile Corporation. The mill is engaged in exporting different forms of fabrics including grey, dyed, bleached and printed fabrics. Around 10% rebate is offered for purchase of fabrics at the mill itself.

The Statue of Dupleix is 3 metres tall statue of Francois Dupleix, constructed to honour him. Francois Dupleix used to govern Pondicherry from 1742 to 1754 and this statue was commissioned in his honour in 1870. This statue has been constructed over beautiful granite columns at Place du Republique. There is a small children’s park located just opposite to this statue which is located towards the southern end of the Goubert Avenue.This statue of Joseph Francois Dupleix lies on the Beach Road, which is reminiscent of the French colonial rule in Pondicherry.

The Varadaraja Perumal Temple, which also has the Thirukameshwar Temple. These temples were built during 12th century along with two famous wells. The temple has been constructed in traditional Dravidian style, with coloured Gopuram and sculpted pillars. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, locally called Venkatachalapathy. There is a separate shrine of Lord Narashima behind the temple of the main deity. Thiruvabharanam is also present at this temple, which embellishes the main shrine of Lord Vishnu.

Botanical Garden and Aquarium is one of the exclusive sights in Puducherry. Covering an area of 22 acres this is one of the peaceful sites in Puducherry. Though located at the heart of the city it is one of the coolest places which is covered with enriched greenery. This place provides a lot of entertainment with its aquarium, dancing fountains, Jawahar Balbhavan and interpretation centre which entertain the visitors. Botanical Garden and Aquarium in Puducherry was established in 1826. Established by C.S. Perrotet this was developed with an intension to experiment the new agricultural crops which could be cultivated in the region. As such a number of trees were planted for experiments. With the transfer of power this place was converted into a botanical garden which has a rare collection of exotic trees. The garden has a memorial of Perottet which is located inside the premise of the botanical garden. Converted into a botanical garden in 1931 this place came under the supervision of the horticulture department of Puducherry in 1960.
