Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Bhuj is a spiritual Hindu organisation, placed in Bhuj in Kutch district of Gujarat, which falls under the Nar Narayandev Gadi as established and ordained by Lord Shree Swaminarayan Himself. 26 January 2001, earthquake damaged the most parts of the Gujrat, including the original Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj. The new temple was built, made by marbel, intricate carvings adorn the pillars and ceiling of the most expensive temple.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Bhuj built by Lord Swaminarayan in 1824. but an earthquake on 26 January 2001 shattered most parts of the city of Bhuj, including the original temple Shri Swaminarayan. The new temple was built at a cost of 100 crore on 5 acres of land. Made by marbel, intricate carvings adorn the pillars and ceiling of the most expensive temple built in the Indian state of Gujarat recently.

  • The Rann of Kutch is a sensitive area, due to its proximity to the Pakistani border. Therefore, written permission is required to visit the salt desert. This can be obtained on the way at the Bhirandiyara village (famous for mawa, a sweet made from milk) checkpoint, around 55 kilometers from Bhuj. The cost is 100 rupees per person and 50 rupees for a car. You’ll need to submit a photocopy of your ID, plus show the original. Permission is also obtainable from the Gujarat Police DSP office in Bhuj near Jubilee Ground (it’s closed Sundays, and every second and fourth Saturday). You must to present the written permission to the officers at the army checkpoint at the entry to the salt desert.

Narayan Sarovar Wildlife Sanctuary establishment Notification for the Lakhpat taluka was given in April 1981, that extended over an area of about 765 sq kms. But, owing to the denotificaton order by state government, there was reduction within the sanctuary limits to about 444 sq kms in 1995. With varied interests of mining within the region under the sanctuary, this limitation was obligatory, but still Narayan Sarovar Wildlife Sanctuary (Chinkara) species are present.

Taxi : Private taxies are available here from railway station and airport of Bhuj.

Bus : Bus station nearest to the sanctuary is at Dayapur about 15 kms away.

Train : Kutch does not have a train station, and the nearest station is Bhuj, at a distance of 70 kms from Kutch. Kutch Express (Daily) and Sayaji Nagri Express (Daily) from Mumbai via Surat, Ahmedabad and Gandhidham to Bhuj. Ala Hazrat Express(Daily) from Delhi via Jaipur, Ajmer and Palanpur to Bhuj.

Air : The Nearest airport is at Bhuj, which is around 70 km from Kutch has the nearest airport and is connected directly connected with cities like Ahmedabad and Mumbai. From here tourists need to either take a bus or taxi to reach town of Kutch district.

Others : Auto rickshaws can also be available from the airport to the city.
