Krishnapura Chhatris on the banks of the river Khan in Indore are a cluster of stone memorial monuments built on the spots where the mortal remains of the Holkar rulers of Indore were cremated. The word ‘chhatri’ (‘umbrella’) refers to the shape of the domes of the monuments. A cluster of chhatris is commonly featured in many tombs and other memorial monuments found in the region and in some other places elsewhere in India.The complex houses three chhatris belonging to Maharani Krishnabai, Tukoji Rao II and his son Shivaji Rao. The latter two chhatris are linked by a hall that features ornate arches and pillars. Life-size statues of the duo can also be seen here.

Bada Ganapati is better known for its size than antiquity, this temple houses very large idol of Ganesh measuring 25 feet from crown to foot. Created as a result of a dream to an Avantika (Ujjain) resident Shri Dadhich, it was built in 1875. The idol has a most interesting configuration of ingredients: bricks, lime stone, masala made of Gud, methi dana, soil collected from seven moksha puris: Ayodhya, Mathura, Maya, Kashi, Kanchi, Avantika, and Dwaraka, mud from stables of horse, elephant and cow, the powder of Pancharatna : heera, panna, moti, manek and pukhraj (diamond, emerald, pearl, ruby and topaz) and the holy water from all major places of pilgrimage. The metalic frame is of gold, silver, copper, brass and iron.
