The river dining-room and Dormitory is that the solely remaining Civilian Conservation Corps camp structure remaining in Mount Rainier parkland. The wood-framed building was inbuilt 1933, and includes 2185 sq. Feet, originally containing a room feeding space, lounge, 2 bogs, a chamber and a bunkroom, additionally as a service construction. The building now not is a residence and is employed for storage. It’s settled at the river entrance to the park, a part of a fancy of service buildings.
The dining-room was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March thirteen, 1991. It’s enclosed within the river Entrance Historic District. It’s a part of the Mount Rainier National Historic Landmark District, that encompasses the whole park and that acknowledges the park’s inventory of Park Service-designed rustic design.
