ROSENDALE was fashioned from Marbletown, New Paltz and Hurley, April 26, 1844. it’s an indoor city, lying east of the middle of the County. The surface could be a rolling and broken upland, the very best summits being from two hundred to five hundred feet (150 m) on top of the valleys. Rondout Creek flows north-east through the city close to the middle, receiving Coxingkill from the south, and Cottlekill from the north.
