Henry Barnard House, in Hartford, Connecticut, u. S., was the house of professional Henry Barnard. Barnard was instrumental (along with Horace Mann) within the development of the yankee public establishment. This plain and tall, three-story brick building features a saddle roof And an ionic-columned porch. It had been designed four years before Barnard was born. It had been declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965. The home is presently owned and operated by Mercy Housing Connecticut, a homeless shelter.
