Franklin sq. Is one among the 5 original open-space parks planned by William Penn throughout the late seventeenth century in central Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Originally referred to as Northeast sq., Franklin sq. Was renamed in 1825 to honor scientist, one among the foremost outstanding introduction Fathers of the us and a number one printer, scientist, inventor, civic activist and diplomat. In its early years, the sq. Was associate open common used for grazing animals, storing gun powder (during the yankee Revolution) drilling troopers (during the War of 1812). From 1741 to 1835, a little of the sq. Was used as a memorial park by the German Reform Church; a number of the graves still stay.
