Congregational United Church of Christ is found within the downtown space of Iowa town, Iowa, us and also the field of the University Of Iowa. The congregation was organized in 1856 and also the house of God was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.Renovations to the house of God created for a replacement ground floor entry and enhancements to the social hall, gallery and bema in 1969. The sanctuary became incapacitated accessible in 1986, and was restored in 2002.The Casavant Frères, Opus 3867, wind instrument was given anonymously to the congregation in 2007. It combines parts of the church’s pervious instruments. The bottom of the screen woodwork is from the 1903 Lyons and Healy organ; the higher portion of the case, with the Gothic vogue elaborations, were from the 1934 additions; and 7 ranks from the 1958 Wicks organ area unit a part of the twenty nine ranks of the new organ.
