The Zion Lodge Historic District surrounds the country lodge originally designed by Gilbert Stanley coppice in Zion park. The lodge served because the center of a bunch of cabins, worker dormitories and support buildings that area unit enclosed within the district. A swimming bath and bathhouse were razed in 1976. The district was dilated in 1986 to incorporate associate degree Underwood-designed former photography studio and extra cabins.
The Zion Lodge complicated was developed by the Beehive State Parks Company to supply lodging for tourists at Zion. The Beehive State Parks Company was owned by the Union Pacific Railroad, that had developed a powerful relationship with coppice. Coppice styleed most of the structures within the lodge community exploitation principles of rustic design favored by the park Service, a method that was developed and promoted, in part, by coppice himself.
