The Zion Lodge Historic District surrounds the country lodge originally designed by Gilbert Stanley brushwood in Zion park. The lodge served because the center of a gaggle of cabins, worker dormitories and support buildings that ar enclosed within the district. A pool and bathhouse were destroyed in 1976. The district was enlarged in 1986 to incorporate associate degree Underwood-designed former photography studio and extra cabins.
The Zion Lodge complicated was developed by the UT Parks Company to produce lodging for tourists at Zion. The UT Parks Company was in hand by the Union Pacific Railroad, that had developed a powerful relationship with brushwood. Brushwood styleed most of the structures within the lodge community victimization principles of rustic design favored by the park Service, a mode that was developed and promoted, in part, by brushwood himself .
