A convenient starting point for travelers as Zhengzhou is located almost at the geographical centre of the country. Sprawled along the south bank of the Yellow River in the Henan Province, Zhengzhou is a rapidly growing city which also happens to be the biggest transportation hub in China. Alongside several landmark historical museums and monuments, the World renowned Shaolin Temple complex is located in the nearby Song Mountains which is only a couple of hours drive from Zhengzhou. The Yellow River Scenic Area offers several attractions including many parks, the Five Dragons Peak, the Camel Mountain Range, Yueshan Temple and the ancient cities of Liubang and Xiangyu.
The Confucius Temple in Zhengzhou is one of the oldest in China which was originally built 1,900 years ago. Other remarkable architectural heritage structures in these regions include the Town God Temple, the Erqi Memorial Tower and various remains of the Shang Dynasty which ruled these areas 3,600 years ago.
