Yaren, in earlier times Makwa/Moqua, may be a district and body of the Pacific nation of Nauru. It’s the actual capital of Nauru. Yaren is found within the south of the island. Its space is one.5 sq km (0.58 sq mi), and its population was one,100 in 2003. To the north of Yaren is Buada, to the east is Meneng and to the west is Boe. Yaren (and generally Aiwo) is sometimes listed because the capital of Nauru tho’ this can be incorrect; the republic doesn’t have cities or an officer capital.
