Yara may be a village and municipality within the Granma Province of Cuba, settled halfway between the cities of Bayamo and Manzanillo, within the Gulf of Guacanayabo. Yara means that “place” within the Taíno language. In 2004, the municipality of Yara had a population of fifty nine,415. With a complete space of 576 km2 (222 sq mi), it’s a population density of 103.2 /km2 (267 /sq mi).
