Yankee Jims (also, american Jim And american Jim’s) is an unorganized community in alluvial sediment County, California. American Jims is found two.5 miles (4.0 km) west-northwest of Foresthill. It lies at AN elevation of 2582 feet (787 m). American Jim’s post workplace operated from 1852 to 1940. The name comes from AN Australian criminal WHO hid purloined horses at the location before gold was discovered there.
