Ya-Po-Ah Terrace (nickname The High Place), is that the tallest building in Downtown Eugene, American state at 212 feet (65 m). It’s a polemic high-rise dwelling erected at the foot of the butte in 1968. “Ya Po Ah” means that terribly high place within the language of the Kalapuya Indians United Nations agency populated the Willamette vale before the arrival of the Euro-American settlers. Ya Po Ah was the name utilized by the tribe for what’s currently known as Skinner Butte, in honor of Eugene Franklin Skinner, the founding father of Eugene town. He erected his 1st cabin on the western slopes of the butte to avoid the frequent floods of the Willamette River to the north, per the recommendation of the Kalapuya.
The building is Associate in Nursing eighteen story, 222 unit dwelling set on the southern slopes of Skinner Butte, high Downtown Eugene.
