Xunantunich may be a Maya archeological website in western British Honduras, concerning eighty miles (130 km) west of British Honduras town within the Cayo District.
Xunantunich is found atop a ridge higher than the Mopan stream, procurable of the Guatemala border. Its name suggests that “Stone Woman” within the Maya language (Mopan and Yucatec combination name), and, like several names given to Maya archeological sites, may be a fashionable name; the traditional name is presently unknown.
