Xiangyang is a prefecture-level city in Hubei Province of the People’s Republic of China. It was formed from two famous ancient cities, Xiangyang and Fancheng. It was known as Xiangfan until December 2nd, 2010. The prefecture-level city of Xiangyang administers 9 county-level divisions, including 3 districts, 3 county-level cities and 3 counties. Xiangyang city is divided by the Han River, which runs through its heart and divides the city north-south.
