Prior to Gregorian calendar month 2011, the planet Trade Center of recent Orleans was housed within the historic World Trade Center Building, settled at a pair of Canal Street within the Central downtown of recent Orleans, Louisiana. The building, that may be a 33-story, 407 feet (124 m)-tall building, has since been purchased by the town of recent Orleans. The building was at one time referred to as the “ITM Building”, i.e., the International Trade marketplace, and was made to a style by Edward Durell Stone. In its prime, the planet Trade Center building housed varied foreign consulates and also the headquarters for the Port of recent Orleans.
The top floor hosted a saloon known as “Top of the Mart” from the Nineteen Seventies through 2001. The bar slowly revolved once per hour. After this, a bar known as “360” (as in degrees) opened in its place, that remained till cyclone Katrina in 2005, and had since re-opened. 360 is presently closed. The town of recent Orleans presently owns the property that has been vacant since March 2010, and is considering destruction the landmark. But any improvement plans would need early termination of the present lease with the planet Trade Center Organization.
