Winnsboro could be a city in Fairfield County, South Carolina, us. The population was three,599 at the 2000 census. It’s the county courthouse of Fairfield County. Winnsboro is a component of the Columbia, South Carolina Metropolitan applied math space. Many years before the Revolution, Richard Winn from Virginia stirred to what’s currently known as Fairfield County. His lands lined the current website of Winnsboro, and as early as 1777 the settlement was called “Winnsborough”.
The village was arranged out and chartered in 1785 upon petition of Richard Winn, John Winn and John Vanderhorst. John, Richard, and Minor Winn all served within the Revolutionary War.
