Wilten Abbey was founded in 1138. The collections include lavish tapestries, paintings, furniture, pewter artefacts, documents and elaborate pieces of goldsmith´s and silversmith´s work from five centuries. The Museum definitely merits a visit.
Roman razors, Gothic altarpieces and many other precious objects take you on a journey through time. A special highlight: a copy of the Wilten Chalice dating from 1180, and the “Dragon Tongue”.
