The Wilshire Ward Chapel, erst referred to as the Hollywood Stake Tabernacle, could be a house of worship of The Church of Hebrew of present Saints in l. A. , California. The building is listed as a l. A. Historic-Cultural Monument and on the Mormon Historic Sites Foundation written account.The Hollywood Stake Tabernacle was commissioned within the late 1927 when the division of the l. A. Stake and designed by architects Hyrum Pope and Harold W. Burton in associate artistic movement and fashionable vogue. The cornerstone was arranged in 1928 by then Stake President St. George W. McCune and therefore the building was completed in 1929 at a price of $250,000. The funds for the building were raised by church members within the space and matched matched with church headquarters. Several native church members provided volunteered labor on the building. The building seats more or less a pair of,100. Heber J. Grant, the President of the Church of Hebrew of present Saints at the time, dedicated the building and expressed that it had been “one of the terribly finest buildings that we’ve got ever erected in any of the stakes of Zion…”. Owing to its construction and style, the tabernacle was thought of the “finest cement building in America” by study Concrete in 1933. The building was counseled for conclusion of use in 1970, but native leaders fought to preserve the building. It went through major renovations that were completed in 2003 and therefore the building was then rededicated by another church president Gordon B. Hinckley. The building remains in use as a house of worship by 3 Wards (Wilshire, Adams, Olympic (Korean-speaking)), however now not functions as associate LDS tabernacle.
