BUS : Sonamarg is well connected with nearby places such as Srinagar and Jammu via buses. Tourists can avail J&K State Road Transport Corporation (J&KSRTC) bus services to reach Sonamarg from Jammu and Srinagar. Special luxury buses are also available for the destination.
Train : The nearest railhead to Sonamarg is Nowgam Railway Station, also known as Srinagar Railway Station. It located at a distance of 70 km from Sonamarg but it is not well connected with the rest of the Indian rail network. Jammu Tawi Railway Station is the nearest major rail link to Sonamarg(301 kms), which is well connected with all the important Indian cities. Tourists can hire taxis or cabs from outside the railway station in order to reach Sonamarg.
Air : Sheikh ul Alam Airport, commonly known as Srinagar Airport is the nearest airport to Sonamarg, which is located at a distance of around 70 km from Sonamarg. The airport is well connected with important Indian destinations such as Shimla, Chandigarh, Mumbai, and Delhi. Tourists can hire taxis and cabs from outside the airport to reach Sonamarg.
