The river Bridge was in-built 1929 in Mount Rainier park as a part of the Yakima Park Road project. The new road was planned to open up access to the northeastern portion of the park. The bridge, spanning the river was engineered by contractor John D. James Tobin of Portland, Oregon, United Nations agency had antecedently engineered the Narada Falls Bridge and also the Christine Falls Bridges, each listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Plans for the bridge were drawn by the park Service Branch of Plans vogues} within the park Service Rustic style, with construction direction by NPS landscapist Ernest A. Davidson. The basket-handle arch spans sixty feet (18 m), with a stone-faced Concrete structure.
The bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March thirteen, 1991. It’s a part of the Mount Rainier National Historic Landmark District, that encompasses the whole park and that acknowledges the park’s inventory of Park Service-designed rustic design.
