Westlock County may be a municipal district in central Canadian province north of provincial capital. The county was once referred to as the Municipal District of Westlock No. 92, and was created in 1943 from the merger of 5 smaller municipal districts. The county lies on the boundary of 2 of Canada’s largest watershed basins. To the north is that the Athabasca watercourse, that drains into the Arctic Ocean via the river. To the south is that the ganoid watercourse that drains via the North Canadian province into sea.
