West Lafayette ( /wst lfit/) may be a town in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, u. s.. it’s placed regarding sixty five miles (105 km) northwest of the metropolis of Indianapolis and across the Wabash River from its sister town, Lafayette. As of the 2010 census, its population was twenty nine,596. it’s the foremost densely inhabited town in Indiana and is home to Purdue University. West Lafayette is an element of the Lafayette, Indiana Metropolitan applied mathematics space. West Lafayette lies in central Tippecanoe County and overlooks the Wabash River, that borders the town on the east and south. Most of the town lies in japanese Wabash town, although atiny low portion on the northeast aspect extends into Tippecanoe town. Elevations vary from to a small degree over five hundred feet (150 m) close to the stream to over 720 feet (220 m) in northern components of the town close to U.S. Route 52.
