The water tower is located in Wiener Neustadt, Wiener Neustadt on the Südtirolerplatz. It is a tangible symbol of the city, shall additionally as an important industrial monument and was formerly part of the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-water line.
In the years 1902 to 1903 resulted in a request and approval for a deep source of urban water supply, which was developed from 1909 by the firm of C. Korte and Co.. On behalf of this company was built 1909-1910 by architect Anton Koblischek designed by the architect Hans Siegfried Theiss and Jaksch, the necessary water tower. On 13 December 1910 the water tower was put into operation. The tower tapers to a rounded base to the top. The tower shaft is divided by pilasters and partially fenestrated. A Konsolkranz carries the polygonal container housing which is covered by a steep mansardartig folded tent.
The water tower was in the Second World War, partly destroyed and restored from 1950 to 1951, where the windows were changed.It is still part of the water supply, but no longer serves as a storage container, but as a rule, container, from which the wells are pumping on and off. In case of power failure, the water tower to ensure short-term due to the height of the reservoir supply.
