The community was named when wagonwright lake, that successively was named a politician below Capt. F.W. Beechey, Lt. John wagonwright, United Nations agency each discovered the lake. in line with the u. s. office, the town contains a total space of forty two.5 sq. miles (110 sq. kilometers), of which, 17.6 sq. miles (46 sq. kilometers) of it’s land and twenty four.9 sq. miles (64 sq. kilometers) of it (58.63%) is water.
