Velsao Chapel or the Chapel of Three Kings is located at the top of a hill at the Velsao village, which is 25 km from Panaji – the capital of Goa. From this place you can enjoy the lush Salcette countryside. Velsao Chapel is the site of the rare Feast of Three Kings, celebrated on 6 January at Cansaulim. At the feast three local guys dress up as the three kings and move in the village on horseback and go to the church on the hilltop. A fair is also held at the church grounds. Other than the feast the Velsao Chapel is a great place to visit at least once. It offers some spectacular views of the Goan sunset and is very calm and quiet.

There is a church situated in Velsao known as the Our Lady of Assumption Church which is exactly located at Vernao, Cansaulim, Velsao, Salcete – Goa. It is known that the Church was founded in 1635 and before this the villages of Velsao, Pale, Chicolna and Issorcim were affiliated with the Church of St. Thomas in Cansaulim.
