Vashishta Gufa is a famous attraction famous for meditation. Located at the bank of River Ganga, this gufa is situated at a distance of 16 km from Rishikesh. It takes about an hour’s drive on the Rishikesh Badrinath Highway to reach Vashishta Gufa. For the adventure seeker, this place provides with camping facility. The Vashishta Gufa is situated in the middle of a grove of Gular (Ficus) trees and the slopes leading to sacred River Ganga. It is also famous for a linga, which is considered to be spiritual. It is believed that in the year 1928 and 1961 Sri Swami Purushottamananda Ji visited this gufa and now his ashram is located close to the Vashishta Gufa, where various devotes come for meditation.
