Vankaner palace is extremely popular among visiting tourists and there is a museum that is located in the palace that offers information about the royal family that lived here. The museum also contains some of the items that were used by the royal family including swords, shields and daggers. The palace was built with a combination of architectural styles and the building itself has a unique design. This is a must see building for those who are interested in architecture. The palace is located in sprawling grounds that extend to around 250 acres of land.

By Air : The closest airport is located at the city of Rajkot which is around 50 km from the place. The airport receives flights from the city of Mumbai and this is a good option for those who are arriving by air. The closest major airport is located in the city of Ahmadabad and this is located around 220 km from the city of Vankaner. Taxis are available from both the airports to Vankaner. They charge between Rs 7 and Rs 12 per km depending on the type of vehicle.

By Train : The Vankaner Railway Station is located on the Ahmadabad and Rajkot route and if you are planning to arrive by air, auto rickshaws are available from the station to the city center. Train tickets are cheap and trains are the most comfortable way to travel. Second class tickets from Ahmadabad to Vankaner cost around Rs 150.

By Bus : State run buses are available from Rajkot to Vankaner. Tickets cost around Rs 50 and they are frequent. However they may not be comfortable and are often crowded.
