Uunarteq, erst Kap economic expert, is associate degree abandoned settlement within the Sermersooq municipality in jap Gronland, set seven kilometre south of Ittoqqortoormiit. At its largest extent, the settlement was home for about a hundred and twenty individuals, with its own school. The village housed a seismal station till 1960, once it had been closed down.
Uunarteq was abandoned as a settlement within the mid-1980s, once the native observation post was closed. Nowadays the remaining buildings function cottages for the inhabitatants of close Ittoqqortoormiit. The last family left the settlement in 2004. Within the space ruins of associate degree early Red Indian village may be found. The ruins area unit set at the close hot springs, the common temperature of that is one hundred forty °F (60.0 °C).
