USS Wisconsin (BB-64), “Wisky” or “WisKy”, is AN Iowa-class war vessel, the second ship of the us Navy to be named in honor of the U.S. State of Wisconsin. She was engineered at the metropolis navy yard in metropolis, Pennsylvania and launched on seven Gregorian calendar month 1943 (the second day of the harbor raid), sponsored by the partner of Governor of Wisconsin, music director Goodland.
During her career, Wisconsin served within the Pacific Theater of warfare II, wherever she shelled Japanese fortifications and screened us craft carriers as they conducted air raids against enemy positions. Throughout the war, Wisconsin shelled North Korean targets in support of international organisation and South Korean ground operations, when that she was decommissioned. She was reactivated one August 1986, progressive and took part operative Desert Storm in Jan and Feb 1991.
