Detail InformationEdit
Uppinakudru Island site was once associated with the trading of seafood and salt. It has many popular temples among which, is the famous Lord Gopala Krishna Temple. The Lord Vasudeva Temple is regarded as one of the oldest temples of this site. The temple is dedicated to a local deity..The Siddi Vinayaka Temple is another temple in Uppinakudru and the main deity of this temple is Lord Ganesha. During the British rule, the idols of Indian Gods and Goddesses were sold at high prices in the foreign market. Local people started stealing and hiding the idols in bundles of tobacco.
