The University of Technology, Jamaica (Utech) may be a university in Jamaica. The university’s current president is academic. Errol Morrison.
The establishment was accorded University standing on Sept one, 1995 because the University of Technology, Jamaica. The University of Technology, Jamaica Act twenty seven – 1999, that makes permanent provisions for the institution of the University of Technology, Jamaica, was approved by Parliament on Gregorian calendar month eight, 1999 and signed into law by the governor on June 29, 1999.
The history of the establishment is intimately connected with the social and economic development of Jamaica. From simply over fifty students and 4 programmes in 1958, Utech has big to become a serious national establishment with a student population of over ten,000. It currently offers quite fifty programmes at certificate, sheepskin and degree levels.
