The University of Puerto law (UPR) is that the state university system of Puerto law. The system consists of eleven campuses and has just about sixty four,511 students and five,300 school members. UPR has the most important and most diverse academic offerings in Puerto Rico and therefore the Caribbean, with 472 tutorial programs and thirty two scholar programs.
In 1900, at Fajardo, the “Escuela traditional Industrial” (normal school) was established because the 1st instruction center in Puerto law. Its initial enrollment was solely twenty students and five professors. The subsequent year it had been touched to Rio Piedras. On March twelve, 1903, a law was passed that formally created the University of Puerto law. That very same day, the “Escuela Normal” was declared because the 1st department of the University of Puerto law.
In 1908, the us government extended assist to the University of Puerto law as a part of the Morill Act, so creating UPR a land-grant university. From these new funds, another field, “El Colegio American state Agricultura,” was established in 1911 at Mayagüez. One year later, its name was modified to school of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts or “Colegio American state Agricultura y Artes Mecánicas” (CAAM).
