Detail InformationEdit

The Chemistry Building at the University of Arkansas may be a building on the University’s field in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The building was additional to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Though there was already a chemistry building on field, by 1925 it had become too little. There have been plans to create a replacement building by the Arkansas General Assembly in 1927, and was scheduled to be in-built 1931. However, the good Depression delayed these plans.
In January 1934, $1,165,000 was created obtainable for the development of each a replacement chemistry building and Vol Walker Library. These funds came from the general public Works Administration, and not the Arkansas law-makers. Opened in Dec 1935, the building housed the chemistry, zoology, geology, philosophy, and science departments. Eventually, the growing University forced all of those departments elsewhere aside from chemistry. In 1992, the University additional another chemistry building adjacent to the current one, connected with a paseo.
