The Union Baptists is Cincinnati’s oldest black church. The church was based on Gregorian calendar month fourteen, 1821. That they had their 1st meeting in an exceedingly building on Third Street, between Elm and Plum Streets, downtown. The members designed a church on Central Avenue and known as Rev. David Leroy Nickens of Chillicothe, Ohio as its 1st pastor.In 1864, Church members based the Union Baptist graveyard, within the value Hill neighborhood. It’s the oldest Baptist African-American graveyard in metropolis.In the Sixties, rehabilitation forced the church to maneuver from its old home at state capital and Mound Streets.The Church touched to Seventh & Central Avenues in 1971, underneath the leadership of Rev. Wilber Page, old pastor.The church continues its add the metropolis community.
