Ulaan Baatar is the capital city of Mongolia. It is rated as the first cold capital city in the World. It stands as the winter capital city of Mongolia. It is situated on the bank of River Tuul. Four sacred mountains surround this city which is a cultural, political and industrial centre of the country. It houses a wide range of art and culture buildings, museums and institutions. Gandan Monastery, Sukhbaatar Square, Opera House, Zasian Museum, Gorkhi National Park and the Artificial Lake Castle are some of the attractions of Ulaan Baatar. Ulaan Baatar has warm summers and dry and cold winters. A city council governs the city. The city has nine divisions. The Chinggis khan International Airport is the main airport situated 18 kms from the city. Being a transportation centre this city is well connected with roads, rails and buses. Garuda is the official symbol of Ulaan Baatar.
