Detail InformationEdit
Uaymil is pre-Columbian Maya archaeologic web site placed on the sea-coast of northern metropolis. The settlement of Uaymil occupies alittle island some two.5 kilometers from the coast and twenty five kilometre north of Jaina.
The site has been archaeologically investigated by Rafael Cobos, currently of the Universidad Autónoma American state Yucatán (UADY), WHO documented fifteen structures, eight of that were located around a plaza containing associate altar (Cobos 2001).
A number of further monuments and stele were conjointly known (Cobos et al. 2005). Ceramic knowledge recovered throughout archaeologic excavation indicate that Uaymil was preponderantly a Late to Terminal Classic web site. Ceramic, lithic, and study knowledge recommend that Uaymil had economic ties with each Uxmal and Chichén Itzá (Inurreta and Cobos 2003), however for the most part functioned as a port directly connected to, and enthusiastic about, Uxmal (Cobos 2004).
