The Tusayan Ruins (aka Tusayan Pueblo) is AN 800-year-old Pueblo Indian website set at intervals Grand Canyon park, and is taken into account by the park Service (NPS) to be one in all the main anthropology sites in Arizona. The location consists of atiny low, formed pueblo that includes a living space, storage rooms, and a kiva. Tree ring studies indicate that the location was occupied for concerning twenty years, starting around 1185. It’s found on the “Desert read Drive” portion of Arizona State Route sixty four, three miles west of the Desert read tower. The location was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
The site was excavated in 1930 by members of the river Pueblo of Globe, Arizona. Preservation work occurred in 1948 and 1965. The location represents the survival of AN isolated Pueblo II culture into the Pueblo III era.
