Tunga Anicut Dam is the most popular picnic spot near Jog-Falls surrounded by green paddy fields and arecanut plants. This dam lies near the rocky Tungabhadra River within the premises of Shettihalli Sanctuary. The Dam is surrounded by teak jungles and it also provides a panoramic view of the Bababudain Giri Range. There is also a small tiger reserve namely Thyvare Koppa Lion & Tiger Reserve situated near this dam.
