Troisdorf is a town in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis (district), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Troisdorf is located approx. 22 kilometers south of Cologne and 13 kilometers north east of Bonn. Troisdorf became a free city, and in 1969 the urban area expanded with the annexation of the township of Sieglar, and the villages Altenrath and Friedrich-Wilhelms-Huette. The first large settlement in this area goes back to the 9th and 10th century.
