Trois-Rives may be a municipality within the Mauricie region of the province of Quebec in North American nation. It’s delimited on the west by the Saint-Maurice watercourse, and includes the communities of Grande-Anse, Olscamps, Rivière-Matawin, and Saint-Joseph-de-Mékinac.
It was established in 1972 as Boucher, named when the geographic territorial division of Boucher within which it’s situated. This name was chosen in honour of Pierre Boucher, former French governor of Trois-Rivières and owner of the Boucher and Boucherville Seignories within the late seventeenth century. It had been not till 1978 that the municipal incorporation was confirmed. On December twenty six, 1998, the municipality was renamed to Trois-Rives to raised represent the territory since it’s crossed by 3 rivers: the Matawin, the Mékinac, and Saint-Maurice.
