The name of the town comes from Bálint Török, who became this village from King John. His story and life are symbolical. When Hungary was divided, came this extraordinary clever man over the side and service of one king to another till then, that he became one of greatest and mightiest Lord of the country – to end his life finally in the Seven Tower of Istanbul… The most famous monuments of the town are the catholic perish church, the Chapel of St. Francis from Xavier, the “Maria, help!” Chapel, the Reformed Church and its belfry, the Calvarias and the Village museum. The streets and squares of the town are adorned with Many statues and monuments. Worthwhile is someday all of them to perambulate.
