The city of Tlacotalpan is found within the japanese coastal region of the Mexican state of city. Tlacotalpan was chosen as a UNESCO World Heritage website in 1998 as a result of the “urban layout and design of Tlacotalpan represent a fusion of Spanish and Caribbean traditions of remarkable importance and quality… Its outstanding character lies in its townscape of wide streets, modest homes in AN exuberant sort of designs and colors, and plenty of mature trees publically and personal open areas.” (UNESCO, 1998.). The name “Tlacotalpan” is Nahuatl that means “place between the rivers”, equivalent to “Mesopotamia”.
Candlemas during this town is a very important celebration. The pageant begins on thirty one Jan at 3pm and lasts for eight days, till nine February, all day and every one night.
