Detail InformationEdit

Tikal Temple VI (also referred to as the Temple of the Inscriptions and Structure 6F-27) may be a Mesoamerican pyramid within the ruins of the foremost Maya town of Tikal, within the Petén department of northern Central American nation.
Temple VI is found at the southeastern finish of the Mendez Causeway, that links the temple plaza with the location core. The temple faces west onto a walled plaza. The existence of the temple was 1st rumored in 1951 by Antonio Ortiz on behalf of the Instituto American state Antropología e Historia (IDAEH – “Institute of social science and History”).
The roof comb of the temple is inscribed on its sides and back with a extended hieroglyphic text. The pyramid’s summit construction contains 2 chambers, and therefore the highest living portion of the temple’s roof comb stands twelve metres (40 ft) high. The pyramid construction is accessed via 3 west-facing doorways. The triple entranceway and interior layout of the chambers counsel that Temple VI was actually a palace-type structure instead of a temple.
