Detail InformationEdit
The lovely Thalleidl Chapel, situated at the hamlet of Reisach, dominates the landscape and is a sight that can be seen for miles around.
It was erected in the years 1850 and 1851 by the then Thalleidl Farmer Johann Priewasser. Prior to the foundation of Maria Schmolln, this tiny Church was the most prominent place of worship in the Upper Moosbach Valley. The Chapel was visited by large numbers of people who were attracted to it by the fame of Madonna Painting.
As the Chapel was in a dilapidated state, complete restoration works were carried out as of April 2000. Thanks to the generous support of the Upper Austrian government, the community of Moosbach, and a number of clubs and associations this lovely 19th century building could be saved from demolition. On May 25, 2002, the all new Thalleidl Chapel was consecrated within a solemn ceremony.
The Chapel has some 20 seats. It is a living place of worship and ministry. Services and baptisms are held regularly. What´s more, it possesses an awesome hilltop location from where you can take a rest and enjoy the stunning views of scenic Moosbach Valley.
